Coming Soon: Simony
A teaser for my latest game
October 31, 2012
I've been quiet lately because I've been working like a madman to complete my latest game, a commission in the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville's Project Atrium series. The game takes the form of an installation that will run at the MOCA from November 17, 2012 through March 10, 2013. But don't worry if you can't get to Florida—a version of the game will also be available for iPhone and iPad in the Apple App Store. That said, the installed game will be truly installed, not just a monitor or a projector in a museum. So, if you're nearby, why not come to the members' preview from 7-9pm on November 16 or to the opening the following day—including a lecture on the work at 2pm.
I'm not going to say much more about the game yet, but some teaser text from the MOCA's marketing materials appears below. A bit more information can be found at the MOCA website. Oh, and you can also follow @SimonyGame.
Ascend the dais to play (or pay) your way to the top of the leaderboard in Simony, the latest irreverent and reflective videogame from artist and academic Ian Bogost projected in the cathedral-like setting of the Haskell Atrium Gallery.
