Christopher Schaberg and Mark Yakich have written a lovely little book called Checking in/Checking Out, about air travel. It’s a two-sided book meant to be read from both ends. Schaberg’s side is about his experience working for United in Bozeman, Montana, and Yakich’s is about his attempts to overcome a fear of flying. It’s charming and as lovely to hold as to read.

To accompany the book, the two have created airplanereading.org, a site of stories about air travel. They just published my contribution, a piece called Frequent Flight, about what it feels like to be a very frequent flier.

I’d write more about this, but I have to go to the airport. No joke.
