Some time ago I lent my voice to the audio guide for a Koine Greek curriculum for kids. Around the time it was released, we found out a family friend’s then-three year old had taken to listening to the CD at bedtime, not for the Greek but just because he liked the sound of my voice.

At the same time, the boy’s mother was struggling to get him through the final throes of potty training. She wondered if perhaps my tranquil timbre might help matters. So I recorded a potty koan for the boy. I don’t want to claim credit, but some eight years hence, the lad now uses the toilet daily, and perhaps even more often.

I recently managed to get my hands on said potty koan, which I now release to the world, that I might perchance facilitate the latrine dreams of children and parents alike. Play it below, or download it here (MP3).

This is wonderful, in a funny way AND as a parent looking for new magic tricks to help with this epic quest. Thank you for helping with my ongoing quest to teach my 2 year old the benefits of clean, dry underpants. Especially on Tuesdays. So reassuring. So calming. Much appreciated. =)
