I’m still using Twitter, for better or worse. But I realized today that I quite frequently abort my tweets before posting them, usually due either to mounting ennui or anticipatory shame.

Therefore, I hereby coin the following:

“To twee” is to type something into Twitter but then not post it.

I considered just tweeting this, but…

    I think “twee” makes it hard to intuit that it’s an aborted tweet–maybe twennui?

    There’s a whole extra class of abandoned tweets for when I realize that I can’t fit what I’m trying to say into 140 characters, but it’s not worth a blog post.
