Equipping Game Developers to Glorify God

The 4th Christian Game Developers Conference is taking place on July 28-30th in Portland, Oregon. Along with Ian, we have promised ourselves to attend for a couple of years now, but we have always been too busy. I don't think I'll make it this year neither, but I don't lose hope. Portland is great when it's not raining.

So Ian, if I pay my $130 and show up, will I learn more about playing HALO for Jesus, or is there something more here?

The site is really weak, and doesn't explain how I could serve The Lord more in just going out and buying some new titles.

Anybody out there to offer help? Should I type that while on my knees?

Well, I have to say that I had a really great time when I did a couple of workshop sessions for them last year.

I'm a pretty non-religious kind of guy for the most part (personally, I think the whole religion idea went to hell in a hand basket the day someone came up with the brilliant idea of "organizing" it), but I I met of lot of really intersting folks. The people who attended my talks all had questions and concerns that were very releveant to the same issues most of us independent developers are facing.

And I must say that I was also pleasantly surprised at the quality of some of the stuff being produced. The subject matter might not have been my cup of tea; but heck, I've spent 13 years now developing games about the sport of running for President, so who am I to suggest that other folks have "odd" ideas and peculiar tastes in their game subject matter.

(And I think I was pretty successful at not saying or doing anything dumb and offending anyone!)
