Water Cooler Games
Water Cooler Games served as the web's primary forum for "videogames with an agenda" — coverage of the uses of video games in advertising, politics, education, and other everyday activities, outside the sphere of entertainment.
The site was maintained at watercoolergames.org from 2003-2009, where it was edited by myself and Gonzalo Frasca. It is now archived here in full.

Health & Medicine Games
The second Games for Health conference will be held September 22 - 23 in Baltimore, at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. The current program is here, and this is what the organizers say about the event:
This two-day conference is designed to explore how to use game technologies, tradecraft, and talent to create new breakthroughs in personal and professional healthcare by applying the magic of modern day videogames to a broad array of healthcare needs.
You can also download a flyer (PDF) with more information about the event. Now's a good time to register if this topic interests you, because early registration closes on August 15. The early registration price is $200, and then it rises to $300, then up to $500 the week of the conference. Register here.
I'll be there, speaking on the role of advergaming in pharmaceuticals.
