Water Cooler Games served as the web's primary forum for "videogames with an agenda" — coverage of the uses of video games in advertising, politics, education, and other everyday activities, outside the sphere of entertainment.
The site was maintained at watercoolergames.org from 2003-2009, where it was edited by myself and Gonzalo Frasca. It is now archived here in full.

Games for Change (G4C) is growing and is hiring for two positions in NYC. Among many projects, they're creating a games lab with Parsons the New School for Design and are working closely with the MacArthur Foundation in their new digital media and learning initiative. They've also received grants over the past six months from Surdna and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundations, as well as the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.
Founded in 2004, G4C is a central non-profit organization supporting the growing field of social change through digital games media. They are the social change/social issues branch of the Serious Games Initiative.
Executive Director: seeking a social change innovator and experienced program manager in leading a growing team of people as the organization expands to a solid yet flexible institution at the forefront of a new form of media in the public interest. Online Social Network Manager-Designer: Oversee the development and operation of an innovative online Knowledge Network with the MacArthur Foundation's Digital Media and Learning Initiative. This position will be responsible for developing the technical, content and social capital necessary for the Knowledge Network’s launch and ongoing evolution. About G4C: Games for Change provides support, visibility and shared resources to organizations and individuals using digital games for social change, with special assistance to non-profits and foundations entering the field. This is a primary community of practice for those interested in making and understanding digital games about the most pressing issues of our day, from poverty to race and the environment.
