Water Cooler Games
Water Cooler Games served as the web's primary forum for "videogames with an agenda" — coverage of the uses of video games in advertising, politics, education, and other everyday activities, outside the sphere of entertainment.

The site was maintained at watercoolergames.org from 2003-2009, where it was edited by myself and Gonzalo Frasca. It is now archived here in full.

Ride an esuvee

EsuveeThe Attorney General and Consumer Protection Agencies have created Esuvee Challenge Course, a game that teaches players about key factors in SUV rollovers. The game has high production value and great complexity, and it's funny too: the "Esuvee" is a sort of wooly monster beast. You can also watch the TV spot.

Great site, great CM.

The game however requires Shockwave. The Shockwave installer doesn't let you bypass installing the Yahoo toolbar. I don't want it. Oh well, I wanted to try the game.

That's odd. I have SW aqnd no toolbar, but I'm on Mac/Safari, so maybe that's why.

I agree that Shockwave is becoming a bear of a thing to count on for web-based games.

You can indeed bypass the Yahoon installation, just de-select the "Install Yahoo" option during installation.

this does suck cant even play the game FIX IT!!!!!!!!!

It's better for a web game to be written in Flash, than in Shockwave... But it is great! :)

It's bad it does require Shockwave... :(

I have problems starting it on Safari... :(

Oh, no! Not Shockwave again!
