Water Cooler Games
Water Cooler Games served as the web's primary forum for "videogames with an agenda" — coverage of the uses of video games in advertising, politics, education, and other everyday activities, outside the sphere of entertainment.

The site was maintained at watercoolergames.org from 2003-2009, where it was edited by myself and Gonzalo Frasca. It is now archived here in full.

Serious Games Summit GDC07 Call for Papers Open
by Ian Bogost August 14, 2006
categories: General

Serious Games Source has announced the open call for submissions for the Serious Games Summit at next year's GDC (March 5-6, 2007, in San Francisco). Apparently next year's GDC theme is "Taking Control," although I'm not sure how that will apply to the Serious Games domain... maybe more military games ;).

You can find the submission page on the main GDC website. I'm on the SGS advisory board, which means that I also review proposals, so if you have questions about what might or might not be appropriate, I'll be happy to (try to) answer them.
