Water Cooler Games
Water Cooler Games served as the web's primary forum for "videogames with an agenda" — coverage of the uses of video games in advertising, politics, education, and other everyday activities, outside the sphere of entertainment.
The site was maintained at watercoolergames.org from 2003-2009, where it was edited by myself and Gonzalo Frasca. It is now archived here in full.

Boing Boing reports on New Line having launched a XXX webgame to promote their new film, Running Scared. The webgame features oral sex but, in order to play it, you need to enter a lot of personal data (a lot of US personal data, so no luck for foreigners). This, of course, raises a lot of privacy issues (do you really need to tell them who are you in order to play a webgame). On the other hand, it helps minors to stay away from vaginas. In any case, there are ways to hack the system (you can enter Bush's name, birthdate and White House Zip code and it works!). Here's a work unfriendly pic of the game (well, it may be friendly for some workplaces but let's assume that you have a decent job).
