Water Cooler Games
Water Cooler Games served as the web's primary forum for "videogames with an agenda" — coverage of the uses of video games in advertising, politics, education, and other everyday activities, outside the sphere of entertainment.
The site was maintained at watercoolergames.org from 2003-2009, where it was edited by myself and Gonzalo Frasca. It is now archived here in full.

Angelenos and SoCal visitors may want to consider attending the Writers Guild of America's Nonfiction Forum this Saturday (the 20th) in Beverly Hills. I'll be on the "Nonfiction Frontiers" panel, along with Large Format Cinema pioneer Andy Gellis, Rocketeer screenwriter and current EA IP Veep Danny Bilson, documentarian Andrew Solt, iTV maven Allison Dollar, and USC/Annenberg Labyrinth Project director Rosemary Comella.
The event will also feature screenings of the documentaries Word Wars and Spellbound, followed by Q&A with the filmmakers.
It should still be possible to RSVP. WGA membership is not required. For more information, see the event flyer (pdf).
