No gay marriage in The Sims 2?

WCG friend and cool cat journalist Clive Thompson wrote an article for Slate a while ago about gay marriage in videogames. Now he's noticed that the Maxis FAQ on the game no longer talks about gay marriage. Sez Clive,
I wonder if Maxis has changed its mind on this -- or whether it's still in there, but the company is just trying to downplay it a bit? It could also be a simple editorial mistake...
Anybody know?
